Gumiya's design is reminiscent to that of Gumi, a Vocaloid 2 developed and distributed by Internet Co. Ltd. There has been no defined design, as it varies from artist to artist, but it is common to see him wearing pants or shorts and a dress shirt with a red tie. His hairstyle is short with bangs, and to distinguish him from Gumi, he is often given a darker shade of green. When compared to other genderswaps such as Hatsune Mikuo and Megurine Luki, his design changes very little.
Personality and traits
Gumiya has no defined personality, as he is an open source character. His height, weight, and optimum voice settings are undefined as well. This is because portrayals of him vary from artist to artist, he's commonly portrayed as tall and lanky or small stature.
Gumiya came to be as a result of the popularization of genderswapping an official Vocaloid character. This activity was seen largely with Crypton based Vocaloids with the creation of Mikuo, Miku's genderswapped.
There is currently no configuration for this character. It is just common to downpitch Gumi's songs.
- Any proposed fanon relationships does not appear to be popularized. Much fanart pairs him with Gumi in a non-romantic and non-sexual manner. It could be said that it is a sibling relationship. On Pixiv images of them together are tagged Miyagumi (ミヤグミ).

- MMD models of Gumiya are commonly created by Western users who use the PMD Editor.
- He is also known as Gumio (グミオ), Gumito (グミト), or Mugi (むぎ). The fandom does not seem to solidly agree on what to call him, but the name Gumiya sprung from the Japanese fandom and is commonly used by them. While the name Gumo was coined by the Western fandom for simplicity of masculinizing Gumi's name.
