! Hey~! This page documents an official Fanloid Wiki policy~!

It is a widely accepted standard that should normally be followed by all editors.
This policy in a nutshell states:

  • Courteous considerations for user image uploads
  • Wikia is not an image host or repository
  • Do not upload spam images
  • How many images to upload

  • Personal images for a User's page are to start with Image_ / Ui_ / User_image_
  • The tag {{USER image}} must be used
  • Currently three to four personal images are allowed. If you want more please propose in the forums or this talk page.

Changes to these policies should be proposed and discussed in this → forum.

Image Quality

  • Format - There are several file extensions that can be uploaded to Wikis, with the most common being .JPG, .PNG, and .GIF
  • Size - When it comes to the size ratio, please attempt to downsize below 800X800. Remember, unadjusted large images on Wikia Oasis skin results in stretching and can cause loading issues for others. If this is not followed the file will be deleted, resized, and reuploaded by the Admin.

About User image policy

  • Do not use the Wikia as an image host-!!
• Please understand that this wiki prefers on topic media first, rather than uploads done at random for User page decoration.
Option 1: Personal pictures unrelated to the intent of this wiki or will be of no use must(should) be hosted to an image hosting site such as Photobucket, Tinypic, or Imageshack or other similar services. In terms, various pictures of yourself or a representation of yourself can be linked from a real image host, not uploaded to here. If you require help on how to embed images then please contact the administrator or use the code provided.
• {{Imagehotlink}} can be used as a decorative way to link images on user and article pages.
Option 2: If you intend to upload an image for use of the default infobox; upload for personal use such as user page or user blog, then the file names of user page images have to start with " Image_ " / " Ui_ " / " User image_ " in order to avoid confusion with images that are used in articles. Before clicking 'upload file' you must use the {{USER image}} tag.
• Preferably only 3 to 4 personal user page images are allowed per user. If you wish to free up "image slots", you need to mark old images for deletion with the {{delete}} tag or overwrite the previous upload. Since Fanloid Wiki is small, exceptions can be made and you can upload more than three, but they must be in use.
• Images being used on actual articles as well as a user's page are not counted towards the limit of three. However, the general user page policy must be followed, and it must also be recognized that a user page is not meant to be an active contributors main focus on Fanloid Wiki.
• Images being used on officially approved, shared userboxes do not count towards these limits.

• Do not attempt to bypass the upload limit by creating sockpuppet accounts; asking friends or family to create accounts that will go unused; naming the file with the policy of "Your name_" and not using it for an article; naming the file with the policy "Image_" and not using it for an article. And notice that the Admin(s) reserve the right to delete images at any time, especially if an image is not being used, did not follow policy, or is inappropriate.
• To sort the image into a category, consider the following [[Category:Images of Various Subjects]]. The template will sort such images into this category automatically.

Placing image on your User page

• To upload file images, visit Special:Upload.
• When uploading them, remember to add a category in the summary box.
